Town Garden -
Currently under construction, this
Doylestown, Pennsylvania garden
features the revitalization of a small
rear yard space.
The prior yard was comprised mostly of large shrubs which made the garden feel cramped. These plantings were thinned out and transplanted to the borders where they give privacy from the neighbors. This also made room for new smaller plant material with more variety of texture and color throughout the year. Existing Leyland Cypress located close to the house were limbed up to open views within the garden while still screening high views of tall neighboring buildings. A new seating area with stepping stone paths is arranged around an existing Dogwood where the homeowners can sit nestled within the fragrant plantings. By extending off the existing flagstone patio, new steps and walkways create a more easily accessible entrance from the front yard.
