Suburban Farm -
This garden, installed during the Summer
and Fall of 2010, was designed to reflect
the client’s desire for a simple yet pro-
ductive garden, as well as to compliment
the new home which was constructed
using reclaimed barn timbers. DGA developed the site master plan for the drive, parking court, walls, walks and terraces, plantings, vegetable garden and lighting. DGA was also responsible for the construction and installation of these items with carefully selected and handpicked materials including hand split slabs of over 100 year old granite, used to create bands in the drive as well as the steps to the home.

The stone drive sets the tone as it passes through a grove of fruit trees which transitions into a meadow as it meanders toward the house, leaving the suburban world behind. Use of native, deer resistant plant species blend with the surroundings, blurring the line between new plantings and the native landscape.
